Yesterday I joined over 1,600 small business owners at Atomicon 2026 at The Glasshouse in Newcastle — and wow, what an event.
Hosted by the brilliant Andrew and Pete, Atomicon is one of Europe’s largest sales and marketing conferences for small business owners, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Zero pitching from the stage, four packed tracks of content, and an energy in that room that you just can’t replicate on a Zoom call. (even though their live stream is an amazing alternative)
I caught lots of sessions, particularly these sessions stood out for me:
Hannah Isted, small business marketing strategist and founder of HI Communications, delivered a session rooted in practical, consistent action — her whole approach is about building momentum through doing the bold things others overlook. Really resonated with me as a small business owner.
Alice Benham, business strategist and bestselling author, shared her signature AB Method — helping entrepreneurs bridge the gap between big vision and consistent action. Her transparency and no-nonsense approach to growth was refreshing and genuinely actionable.
And then there was Shawn Kanungo — globally recognised innovation strategist — who made the future of AI and disruption feel exciting rather than terrifying, with a high-energy keynote full of practical ways to stay ahead.
And of course not forgetting a great insight into his own personal business experience Jamie Laing, was there to kick things off. ( Actually, what am I thinking, the amazing Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, kicked things off with an amazing live performance, we were buzzing from the get go!)
I came away with a notebook full of ideas, a head spinning with inspiration and some brilliant new connections. If you’re a small business owner and you’ve never been to Atomicon, put it on your list for next year.
With the added excitement of a change of venue, goodbye Newcastle and hello to Manchester.
