I celebrate 20 years in business in June.
Catch Design Management, the North Yorkshire-based social media training, management and design agency, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this June — a milestone its founder, Sue Thompson, admits she never quite saw coming.
“What started as something to keep me busy while my kids were small enough to still need me at home — with one eye on eventually getting a ‘proper job’ — has continued way beyond my expectations,” said Sue. “I’ve gone from the dining room table to my own office at Stokesley Business Park, and I still love it, especially as the business has evolved.”
Founded in 2006, Catch Design Management began life with a focus on graphic design and interpretation projects, drawing on Sue’s background at the Forestry Commission. Over the past two decades the business has evolved significantly, growing into a service-led agency specialising in social media training and social media management — helping small businesses and organisations across North Yorkshire find their voice online.
Along the way, Sue has built an impressive portfolio of partnerships with organisations including York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub, Coventry University, Enterprise Nation, and numerous local private training businesses, as well as being named Digital Women Educator of the Year in 2022. She also founded Thirsty Thursday Stokesley, a free local networking group that now connects over 300 businesses across the region.
“I’ve had too many people to thank over the last 20 years — clients, collaborators, suppliers and supporters who have all played a part,” Sue added. “As clients have come and gone, it’s been wonderful to watch their success and know I had some small part in it while we worked together.”
As Catch Design Management enters its third decade, Sue is looking ahead with optimism — focused on sustaining the momentum she’s built and continuing to support small businesses across North Yorkshire with practical, down-to-earth social media training and expertise.
